A note to our readers, old and new
Life, as it tends to do, got in the way.
India Wildlife News went quiet — not by design, but by the slow accumulation of everything else that fills a day. The inbox, the commute, the obligations that feel urgent until, one morning, you realize years have slipped by and the blog you cared about has gathered dust while the forests carried on without you.
The forests always carry on, of course. That’s rather the point.
While we were away, tigers kept prowling. Gharials inched back from the edge. A new snake species wept tears in Arunachal (we did cover that one, thankfully). The Sundarbans kept rising. Leopards wandered into cities and back out again. The wild did not pause for our absence, and honestly, we wouldn’t have wanted it to.
But we missed telling you about it. And so, here we are.
India Wildlife News is back. We’re renewing our effort to bring you the latest from India’s forests, coasts, wetlands, and the remarkable people who watch over them — the curious, the hopeful, and the grim in equal measure. We’ll cover conservation wins, ground-level news, wildlife sightings, and the stories that rarely make it to the front page but deserve to.
We’d also love your help. If you’ve been on a safari recently, spotted something unusual, or have a story about India’s wildlife you think deserves a wider audience — write to us. Voluntary contributions, tips, photographs, and even informed opinions are very welcome. This blog has always been for enthusiasts and conservationists, not just editors, and we want it to feel that way again.
The wild is still out there. Let’s talk about it.
