For 2012–19, “Seizure” is NTCA’s cause-of-death category. From 2021 it is the incident flag for recovered tiger parts, a different measure, since NTCA stopped publishing a cause-of-death split after 2020.
Methodology & caveats
All figures come directly from NTCA’s own tiger-mortality page and are updated whenever its list changes. NTCA publishes no breakdown for 2020. The ≈181 projection divides 2026’s deaths so far by the days elapsed and scales to a full year. Leading-state counts follow the state named in NTCA’s own rows.
