IWN Report — Wednesday, 30 September 2026
Corbett Tiger Reserve will mark Wildlife Week with a week of public events from 1 to 7 October, according to a proposed programme the reserve posted on its official Instagram account on Wednesday.
The reserve says the activities are built around the theme “Connecting Habitats, Thriving Wildlife” and cover awareness, education and conservation work across its Ramnagar headquarters, the Kalagarh range and the Kalagarh Tiger Reserve Division based in Lansdowne.
Schools feature heavily, and some of the debate topics are pointed ones for a reserve under heavy tourist pressure. On 4 October, junior students will argue whether eco-tourism is a means of conservation or a challenge for wildlife, and senior students whether wildlife corridors are a conservation necessity or an obstacle to development.
