Indian Police Arrest Two for Smuggling Barking Deer


Police arrested the smugglers in Sangli in India’s Maharashtra and rescued two four-month-old barking deer calves. The young ones are in the care of a rescue center in Chandoli National Park. As reported in The Times of India: 

“Following a tip off the crime branch officials of the Sangli police raided a vehicle near Peth naka and found two animals worth around Rs 20,000 in the vehicle. The police have also seized the SUV costing Rs 6 lakh.”
